Martin
Redish, M.D.
A
proven and respected orthopedic surgeon in Chattanooga
for more than 20 years, Dr. Redish is a native of Indianapolis
and a graduate of Indiana University Medical School.
He completed a residency at the University of Tennessee
at Erlanger Medical Center and, as chief resident, managed
an active trauma service. Following residency, Dr. Redish
entered private practice in association with Paul C.
Thompson, M.D., a noted total joint replacement pioneer.
Less than three years later, he established Chattanooga
Bone and Joint Surgeons.
Dr. Redish's professional focus is on general orthopedics,
with an emphasis on joint replacement and hand and foot
surgery. He has created successful new methods of surgical
treatment of the calcaneus (heel bone). He was the first
in this region to perform minimally invasive partial
knee resurfacing, a popular new alternative to total
knee replacement. Dr. Redish enjoys the outdoors, basketball,
and playing bluegrass mandolin. He and his wife, Edie,
have two sons.
Bruce
Short, M.D.
Having
graduated magna cum Laude from the University of Tennessee
at Chattanooga, and with highest honors from the University
of Tennessee at Memphis College of Medicine, Dr. Bruce
Short contributes a high level of knowledge and expertise
to Chattanooga Bone and Joint Surgeons. His internship
and residency training were completed at the University
of Kentucky and included extensive experience at the
Shriners Hospital in Lexington and the Kleinert Hand
Institute in Louisville.
Dr. Short is fully board certified and is a fellow in
the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member
of numerous medical societies. He also teaches orthopedics
to several local residency programs. Dr. Short primarily
considers himself a family orthopedist providing quality
comprehensive care to people of all ages, but he has
a wealth of experience and a special interest in joint
replacement and shoulder injuries. He and his wife,
Beverly, have twin sons, Brad and Michael. Dr. Short
is an avid golfer and veteran hang glider pilot.
John
Nash, M.D.
Dr.
John Nash brings diverse insight to Chattanooga Bone
and Joint. After graduating with highest honors as one
of the top five graduates at the University of Southern
California, Dr. Nash attended Harvard Medical School
in Boston. In addition to being educated at this undisputed
leader in medical education, Dr. Nash learned to care
for patients at some of the most technologically advanced
hospitals in the world, including Massachusetts General
Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth-Israel
Hospital, Children's Hospital Boston, New England Deaconess
Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For his
orthopedic training, Dr. Nash returned to Southern California
to LAC+USC Medical Center, USC University Hospital,
Orthopedic Hospital, Children's Hospital Los Angeles,
Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center, and Kerian-Jobe Clinic.
Having received numerous honors and awards over the
years, Dr. Nash has practiced alongside innovative,
internationally- respected colleagues driven toward
advancing the field of orthopedics. He is licensed in
both Tennessee and California. He and his wife, Susan,
are blessed with four sons - lain, Connor, Quinn, and
Dylan.
David
Bruce, M.D.
Dr.
David Bruce adds a unique element of research to the
Chattanooga Bone and Joint physician team. Having completed
his medical education at the University of Alabama School
of Medicine, Dr. Bruce went on to acquire his internship
and residency training at Erlanger Medical Center, where
he received the Robert C. Coddington Resident Research
Award from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.
Since then, Dr. Bruce has published a wealth of medical
presentations surrounding various unique aspects of
more common orthopedic disciplines. Dr. Bruce furthered
his expertise by completing his fellowship training
in Sports Medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus,
GA, and also pediatric orthopedics in Salt Lake City,
UT. He has strong interests in pediatric limb deformity,
including hip dysplasia, limb length discrepancy, and
clubfeet. He also enjoys taking care of athletes and
athletics-related injuries, including shoulder, elbow,
hip, knee and ankle disorders. Dr. Bruce enjoys outdoor
sports and is a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian
Church. He and his wife, Susan, have two sons.
